#1. The Imafidon Family

Anne-Marie Imafidon: At just 11 years old, she completed two GCSEs in primary school and an A-level in computing, making her the youngest person ever to do so in the UK. By 17, she earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford. She is now the President of the British Science Association and co-founder of Stemettes, an organization promoting STEM careers for girls.
Christiana Imafidon: Cristiana obtained her bachelor’s degree at 11 and pursued a Master’s degree in mathematics and statistics by 14. She is now a Doctor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford.
Peter and Paula Imafidon: These twins set records by passing A/AS-level math exams at just eight years old and attended Cambridge University at nine. They have also excelled in national sports.
Samantha Imafidon: Samantha passed high school-level mathematics and statistics exams at six and became the UK’s youngest secondary school student at nine. She is also a gold medallist in the 100m and 200m relays.
#2. Dr. Herbert P. Oye’s Family Of Doctors
Dr. Herbert P. Oye, a Nigerian immigrant, exemplifies dedication and excellence in medicine. As a Board-Certified Endovascular and vascular surgeon, Dr. Oye’s medical journey began with a degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
He completed his General Surgery residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and his advanced vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
Inspired by their father’s commitment to healthcare, Dr Oye’s four children; David, Monique, Michelle, and Melissa also pursued careers in medicine and all became doctors.

#3 Professor (Dr.) Oluyinka Olutoye –

Dr Oluyinka Olutoye was born on January 15, 1967, in Lagos, Nigeria. He earned his medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, and his PhD in anatomy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. His wife is Professor Olutoyin Olutoye
Dr. Olutoye gained international recognition in 2016 when he co-led a team of 21 doctors to perform a successful in-utero surgery on a 23-week-old fetus to remove a sacrococcygeal teratoma, a large tumour on the foetus’s tailbone.
He brought out an unborn child from the mother’s womb and performed surgery on the unborn baby, put it back into the mother’s womb, and the mother delivered the child in the ninth month. This accomplishment is the first of its kind in the field of surgery in the world.
He is currently the Surgeon-in-Chief at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and a professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Professor Olutoyin Olutoye
Professor (Dr) Olutoyin Olutoye is the wife of Professor Oluyinka Olutoye. She is the Anesthesiologist-in-Chief and Department Chair of pediatric Anesthesiology at Arthur C. King Board Designated Professorship in Anesthesiology
She is also a Professor of Anesthesiology (Pediatric Anesthesiology), at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine.
Professor Omotayo Olutoye
Late Professor Omotayo is the mother of Professor Oluyinka Olutoye. She was the first female Professor of Yoruba Language in Nigeria. She died in 2023 at the age of 87 years.
#4 David Omueya Dafinone
David Omueya Dafinone was a distinguished Nigerian accountant and politician, renowned for his contributions to both fields. His family is notable for their exceptional achievements, particularly in accounting.
David Dafinone was born on March 12, 1927, in Sapele, Delta State, Nigeria, David Dafinone completed his secondary education at Abeokuta Grammar School.
He later pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, earning degrees from the University of Exeter and London University. He came back to Nigeria as a Chartered Accountant.

George Olatokunbo Okikiolu was born on July 18, 1941, in Lagos Nigeria. He moved to the United Kingdom along with his twin sister in 1959 after their secondary education in Nigeria. He earned his Master’s degree in 1964 and from then on devoted all his life to the study of Mathematics.
He is a distinguished mathematician known for his extensive research in Integral Operators on Banach spaces. He has published over 290 papers, many of which appear in his journal, the Bulletin of Mathematics. His dedication to mathematics made him the most published black mathematician in History.
Patricia Natasha Okikiolu
Patricia Natasha Edwards, George’s wife, was a high school Mathematics teacher who played a crucial role in fostering a love for mathematics in their family.
Her support and encouragement were instrumental in shaping both George’s and their children’s academic paths.
Prof. Katherine Adebola Okikiolu (First Black recipient of the SLOAN RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP)
Katherine Adebola Okikiolu was born on August 13, 1965, in London, England, and has followed in her father’s footsteps and made significant contributions to mathematical research. Jeannie Adetokunbo Okikiolu
Jeannie Adetokunbo Okikiolu, the eldest child of George and Patricia, also pursued a career in mathematics. She earned a Master’s Degree in mathetics from the University of Cambridge and later trained as a chartered accountant, working as a forensic accountant.
