The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and global tech leader Google, are determined to place Nigeria at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber security innovation in West-Africa.

The meeting was held on Friday, featuring strategic discussions between Kashifu Inuwa, NITDA’s Director General , Google’s Vice Marcus Jadotte and key players in the Presidency’s hierarchy , revealing the ambitious need to propagate the initiated development which aims at digitally advancing the country in all ramifications.

Google’s delegate, Marcus Jadotte and his team, during the tech-focused diplomatic visitation engaged with the key figures in the Nigerian government, such as- Dr. Tunji Alausa, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, The Minister of interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

According to Google’s statement, “The collaboration seeks to bridge the skills gap and create a future-ready workforce,”

NITDA, explained via its verified X handle on Saturday, believed that its partnership with Google aims at achieving transformation in Nigeria‘s system of education by integrating modern digital tools like Artificial Intelligence to enhance and empower students digital abilities in Nigeria. It also resonates with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims at utilizing digital innovation to achieve national development.
